- Abstract
The article explores how Brian Reed's podcast "S-Town" adopts character-types from small-town literature and applies them to the character of John B. McLemore. Topics covered include a lawsuit filed by estate administrator Craig Cargile against the producer of the podcast in 2018 citing invasion of McLemore's privacy, Reed's decision to structure the podcast as a novel, and an analysis of comparable works to understand Reed's use of the queerness of McLemore.
