- Abstract
The article reports on the study on creating synthetic microorganisms through transplantation of a synthetic genome into a bacterial cell. J. Craig Venter and colleagues demonstrated that one bacterium can be replaced and same with synthetic genome but were unable to recover any transformed cell when synthesized a bacterial genome into yeast system. Process of transforming Mycoplasma mycoides bacteria to create a synthetic microorganism and measures in overcoming the challenges are presented.
