- Abstract
The article presents a study which investigates the relationship between the Shipley-Hartford Scale and Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale (WAIS) as a function of age and to present separate regression equations by age for the prediction of WAIS IQ. The study, based upon a large, diverse psychiatric population, confirms that valid estimates of WAIS IQ can be obtained from the Shipley total raw score. By considering the implications of education and age as relevant factors, more accurate predictions can be made in measuring cognitive functioning by the Shipley-Hartford Scale.
