- Abstract
A critique is presented of the poetry book "Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats" by T. S. Eliot, as well as the response to the book in the poem "To Mr. T. S. Eliot, on reading Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats" by childhood acquaintance Bertha Rives Skinker and Eliot's response poem "Dear Madam." Eliot's portrayal of charm and the distinction between good and evil are discussed.
