- Abstract
Dynamic structural equation modeling revealed that better-than-usual sleep quality was followed by better pain and health ratings the next day, and better-than-usual health ratings were followed by better sleep quality the next night. There was some evidence of stronger associations among female participants and those under age 65, providing another example of subgroup differences in sleep-health associations. Associations of sleep disturbance and health may differ between younger and older age groups for various reasons, including different environmental and health contexts.
