- Abstract
Brazil is one of the largest fruit producers in the world. This productive sector is present in all the states of the country. Although it occupies a prominent place in production, Brazil has little representation in the international market. Among the causes of this low commercial dynamism can be highlighted the logistical problems as one of the main entreves of the expansion of the country in the international market of fresh fruits. Therefore, the objective of this work is to analyze the fruit market in Brazil through representations of the production and export flows of fresh fruit between the years of 2000 and 2017. To achieve this objective, a methodological procedure was used: a bibliographical review using articles of periodicals, theses, dissertations and books that deal with the subject of agribusiness, fruit growing, transportation logistics and foreign trade; collection of secondary data on fruit exports from 2000 to 2017 using the Agrostat platform of the Ministry of Livestock and Food Supply (MAPA) and the Municipal Agricultural Production database (PAM) of the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE). The data obtained were grouped into subsectors allowing the elaboration of maps and graphs that demonstrate the behavior of exports. As a result, it was possible to spatialize the main trade flows, the modes of transport used and some obstacles that undermine the dynamism of the country.
