- Abstract
Abnormal uterine bleeding is one of the most common gynecological complaints, being caused by anatomical factors, hormonal or complicated pregnancy. Therapeutic options involve pharmacological treatment, the endometrial ablation and hysterectomy for partial or total reduction of the symptom. Discussions about the variables searching for success of therapeutic choice involve the particular needs of the patient, and should analyze risks, benefits, costs and the etiopathogenic factor of bleeding. The databases LILACS, SciELO and PubMed were consulted in the period February to June 2015, with interest to elucidate the aspects that make the therapy differ successfully or not in each patient.
