- Authors
Fraser, Jessica; Beaudoin, Charlotte
- Abstract
The article presents various challenges faced by physical education teachers in the implementation of new physical education curriculum at the junior high schools in Canada. It is the ultimate aim of the physical education to improve and strengthen the physical health of the students across the country. However, it is evident that schools need a standardized and more effective curriculum for physical education to give more emphasis on health and fitness as well as on classes for lifetime activities such as tennis, running and hiking. These challenges include gaining knowledge of all the objectives in the new curriculum, difficulty in incorporating all the objectives into the school program, and lack of facilities in a rural setting.
