- Abstract
The economic system of a county consists of a number of subsystems, of which the most important one is financial system, because it connects and enables the transfer of funds between different participants in the economy. The most important elements of the financial system are: financial markets, financial instruments and financial institutions. Financial system connects savings units with investment units through financial markets and financial institutions. The cost of funds is formed on the financial market, by meeting the supply and demand for financial instruments. The subject of research of this paper is the money and capital market with an emphasis on Bosnia and Herzegovina by comparing the relevant indicators of the operations of Banja Luka and Sarajevo Stock Exchange. The aim of the survey is to collect, process and analyze data on the basis of which comparisons can be made between the Banja Luka and Sarajevo Stock Exchange for 2015 and 2016 and then, using a comparative analysis, determine which of the two observed exchanges was more successful in 2016.
