- Abstract
The article presents a study concerning the enhancement of radiation-induced cell death using nucleoside anticancer drugs, 1-[3-C-ethynyl-ß-D-ribo-pentofuranosyl]cytosine (ECyd) and 8-aminoadenosine (8-NH²-Ado). It mentions that 8-NH²-Ado enhanced radiation-induced apoptosis through death receptor-mediated and mitochondria-mediated apoptopic signal pathways. Moreover, ECyd induced impairment of homologous recombination (HR) pathway.
