- Abstract
Dear Editor, Leishmaniasis is a vector-borne infection by the protozoa I Leishmania i , with three forms: cutaneous (CL), mucocutaneous and visceral (VL). However, there are also reports of multifocal CL, two with disseminated lesions.[[2], [6]] Patients 4 and 6 were our only cases with distant lesions, the former being the only patient receiving additional immunosuppressants. Although most reports of cases with continuing anti-TNF therapy resolved, the only three cases with unfavourable response had maintained anti-TNF.[[3], [6]] It seems safer to suspend therapy on CL diagnosis, consider reintroduction once resolved, if no complications develop, and ensure close monitoring.
