- Abstract
The article critiques the collection of poems "Enfim...Nós: Escritoras negras brasileiras contemporâneas," ("Finally...Us: Contemporary Black Brazilian Women Writers") edited by Miriam Alves. The author discusses the Quilhomboje literary movement, which responds to notions of exoticism, Brazilian women's bodies, and sexuality. Other topics explored include transnational African diaspora, notions of gender within the black Atlantic, and racial deconstruction.
