- Abstract
The article examines the potential function of the sheet editor in the computer-aided composition (CAC) framework through a presentation of related work in the visual programming environment OpenMusic. It provides an overview of the role of the score in music representation. It discusses the musical data and temporal processes, and music notation. The time systems and graphical representation of the sheet editor are outlined. A reconstitution of an excerpt from a score by Karlheinz Stockhausen is provided.
