- Authors
Selim, Samorn
- Abstract
The article focuses on the issue of employment discrimination against an individual in terms of his race, color, religion, sex or national origin in the U.S. It cites the Title VII of the Civil Rights Act that prohibits employment discrimination and the regulations of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) that define the national origin discrimination. The article states that the EEOC is entitled to comply in the promulgation of regulations unless there are obliging indications that it is wrong. Moreover, the EEOC v. Trans States Airlines Inc. lawsuit about the termination of airline employee Mohammad Shanif Hussein as a result of stereotyping the employee as a Muslim and Arab inaccurately is also discussed.
