- Abstract
The article offers information on the presence of the Rutilus rutilus fish species in the Iberian Peninsula, Portugal and Spain. It is stated that the Iberian Peninsula is the Mediterranean region that has many threatened freshwater fish species, caused by non-native fish (NNF) introductions for recreational fisheries purposes. On September 23, 2012, a local fisherman collected Rutilus rutilus specimens in the Ave River, Portugal.
