- Abstract
Online shopping has been gaining importance and businesses want to increase their market share in the Internet. To realize this aim, they should consider the customers' perceptions on security and risk factors. This study aimed at determining the security and risk perceptions of the academicians on online shopping. Data has been collected using internet survey and 367 useful questionnaires were gathered from 40 different universities. Slight differences were found with respect to demographic characteristics. Academicians grouped together in 4 clusters according to their risk perceptions. Findings with regard to security and risk perceptions on online shopping were presented in the study in detail. E`commerce businesses could take into account the findings of this study and they can make necessary improvements in order to increase online shopping potential of their businesses.
