- Abstract
Objective: To compare the effects of massotherapy and cervical pompation on pain and quality of life of women. Method: This is a quasi-experimental study, in which the sample consisted of 20 women, aged 45-65 years, divided into two groups: 10 received massotherapy (Group A) and 10 received Techniques in the cervical region. The Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) and the SF-36 Questionnaire for quality of life were evaluated for pain assessment before and after the experimental period. Results: no statistically significant difference was observed in the areas of Functional Capacity (p = 0.003), Limitation by Physical Aspect (p = 0.006), Vitality (p = 0.004) and Quality of Life (p = 0.003). In relation to the massotherapy group, there was difference only in the Pain domain (p = 0.012). Conclusion: the massotherapy improved pain and pompage results more significant in quality of life, both of which can be used for the treatment of cervicalgia.
