Summarizes the investigation of 29 illnesses caused by Listeria monocytogenes in several states in the United States in 2000. Case-control study by the Centers for Disease Control, which implicated eating deli turkey meat as the probable source of infection; Investigation of the delis where patients bought their meat by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
