- Abstract
The text discusses the changing global regulatory framework of energy and the challenges faced by energy professionals and scientists in the years 2021 and 2022. It highlights the importance of academia and practitioners in shaping the regulatory landscape. The text also mentions a scientific conference titled "The Quest for Energy Independence and Sustainability: A Regulatory Insight," which focused on energy security, novel technologies, state intervention in energy pricing, and dispute resolution. The special issue of the Journal of World Energy Law and Business reflects some of the discussions from the conference, covering topics such as hydrogen markets, liquified natural gas, gaseous fuels, OPEC's production policy, offshore electrification, and carbon markets. The authors express gratitude to the contributors and the journal for hosting the conference's outcome.
