- Authors
Cimberle, Michela
- Abstract
The article focuses on Keraflex KXL, a microwave procedure developed by Avedro to treat keratoconus while correcting refractive error. The procedure works by flattening the cone and strengthening the cornea. It is conducted in two steps, first is applying microwave energy to the cornea, then inducing localized shrinkage of collagen fibers. The efficacy of Keraflex in correcting refractive error is also discussed.
