- Abstract
In this article, we present a reflection involving the history of science and technology with the Professional Technological Education (PTE), arising from the experience in the training of doctoral students in the Postgraduate Program in Technological Education at the Federal Institute of Education, Science, and Technology of Amazonas. It aims to analyze the contributions of the history of science and technology for students in the doctoral process while attending the subject Contributions of History, Science and Technology for Technological Education. We problematize the aspects related to the importance of the study of the characteristics of the theories and debates involving the theme in the professional and technological education in the mentioned Postgraduate Program. We consider such discussions important in the formation of doctoral students since the Vocational and Technological Education carries with it historical aspects that lack deeper debates in academia and find within the field of philosophy and history of science and technology, support for the development of new knowledge and strengthening of teaching practices in PTE. The article uses a qualitative approach, through the analysis of the expositive and dialogical classes during the course. To achieve the objectives, we consulted classical authors of the history of science and technology, as well as brought important topics for the discussion of PTE in the panorama of history. In a conclusion, we emphasize that the course instigated the students to develop a grounded and critical position about Technological Education through dialogical situations, whose intended and to be consolidated unity focuses on contributions to the understanding and problematization of the themes.
