- Abstract
Healthcare, as with any other service organization, requires systematic innovation and continuous improvement initiatives in order to improve quality and control costs. Learning through a mixture of lecture and discussion, participants will begin to discover how improving efficiencies can have a compound effect on organizational outcomes, patient safety, and satisfaction. PART 1: From Pilot to Protocol In this interactive session, you will discuss: * Quality methodologies (i.e., Six Sigma, Lean, etc.) and their applicability in a hospital setting for process change * How to set up an initial pilot project (size, scope, resources) * How to use pilot project results to make a case for more wide-spread change PART 2: Implementing and Sustaining Change In this interactive session, you will discuss: * How to spread learnings across an organization * How to imbed these changes into the fabric of organizational culture * Buy-in strategies * The value of a control plan to support sustainability
