Abstract
An interview with Li Hui Wei of Contemporary World, the official monthly publication of the International Department of the Communist Party of China's Central Committee (CPCCC), is presented. He refers to the Chinese people and culture as most attractive elements. He identifies the 30 years of open door policy as the its major achievements with respect to reform. Moreover, he sees the increasing gap between the countryside and the city as the important problem facing the Chinese economy.
