- Abstract
The aim of this work was to present the relevance of the intersemiotic translation to the translation studies that has been focused on interlingual translation. Intersemiotic translation involves the review of the concept of translation and the expantion of its limit toward beyond the universe of natural languages. The essential aspects analysed in this study are: (1) the idea of translation as representation and, therefore, as a sign; and (2) the presence of legi-signs as a constitutive principle of interlanguage translation.
