- Abstract
The article discusses the history of U.S. Army colors and standards as of 1808. The author notes that during the period regimental flags or standards were designed to be unique or distinctive. Other subjects considered include military preparedness, military policy, and military organization. Some of the standards discussed include those of the light Dragoons, the First U.S. Light Artillery, and units of the Fourth U.S. Infantry.
