- Abstract
Changxing Formation gas reservoir in the Yuanba Gas Field of the Sichuan Basin is a high-sulfur bioherm gas reservoir with bottom water, where the reefs of multiple stages are stacked, the reservoirs are strongly heterogeneous, and the gas-water relationships are complicated. In the early stage of its development, some gas wells suffer rapid bottom water coning, resulting in a rapid decline in production and pressure, so the stable natural gas production period is predicted to be short. In addition, the reserves in some small reefs are not fully exploited. In order to realize the prediction and control of water breakthrough time in gas wells, the precise and efficient tapping of remaining gas potential, the pressure drop control, and the sulfur blockage prevention and control, a series of key technologies for sustaining the high production of the gas reservoir is developed in the process of gas field development, such as the water production control and gas production stabilization technology for complex bioherm gas reservoirs with bottom water, the efficient remaining gas utilization technology, and the pressure maintenance and production stabilization technology. In addition, the technological research direction for the sustainable production of the gas reservoir is pointed out. And the following research results are obtained. First, the water production control and gas production stabilization technology can achieve the balanced production and invasion in water-production gas wells and the overall stability of water/gas ratio, so as to improve the development effect of the gas reservoir effectively. Second, the efficient remaining gas utilization technology can provide a fine description and potential evaluation of remaining gas, so as to ensure the high production and efficiency of adjustment wells and lay a solid foundation for the stable production of the gas reservoir. Third, the pressure maintenance and production stabilization supporting technology can effectively maintain the pressure drop rate of the gas reservoir, so as to ensure a long-term stable production of the gas field. Fourth, based on the comprehensive application of the above mentioned technologies in the Yuanba Gas Field, a planned high and stable production period is extended from 6 years to 9.7 years, and the recovery factor of the gas reservoir is increased by 12.8%, indicating remarkable effects in sustainable and stable production. In conclusion, these technologies can effectively solve the problems of high sulfur, strong heterogeneity, complex gas-water relationship, rapid bottom water coning, "small, scattered, thin and deep" distribution of reefs in the remaining gas zone, high pressure drop rate, and sulfur deposition in the wellbore, which is of reference significance to the long-term efficient development of similar gas fields.
