- Abstract
The article discusses the study that measured compassion fatigue (CF) and burnout syndrome (BOS) in a trauma team, and determined related stress triggers and coping strategies. Findings discussed include identification of themes like positive aspects of the job, triggers of stress, and stress symptoms, certain situational events to be more stressful than certain injury-based events, and most participants scored in moderate or high range for secondary traumatic stress (STS).
