- Abstract
In this article, the author remembers Welcome Hall in De Soto Parish, Louisiana, and the families who lived there. The author begins with the building of the house by Charles Edwards for his nephew, Edward Adam Edwards. She recalls the experience of the young Edwards in living in the house in the 19th century. She then recounts the acquisition of the house by Benjamin Wharton. In addition, the author notes that the house was rented out, and then sold to a series of families, including the Tomkies and Jeffersons.
