- Authors
Pelletier, Nicole
- Abstract
The article discusses liability for social media-based defamation under American law, and it mentions the legal aspects of emojis and the author's proposal for a solution for individual user liability. The possibility that a U.S. court could find a party liable for using an emoji in a microblog message is examined. The legal rights of users of the Facebook and Twitter social media services are assessed, along with British legal judgments and social media website laws.
