- Abstract
The article examines an album of drawings and watercolour paintings by 19th-century British author Lady Eastlake, Elizabeth Rigby and focuses on how it expands the knowledge of her artwork which had previously only been described as minimal or amateur. Topics covered include the influence of landscape painter John Sell Cotman, Rigby's art education under Henry Sass, and the topographical, portraits, and drawings after master paintings in the album.
