- Abstract
The article reports on the study that describes a near-infrared (NIR) fluorophore for image-guided surgery. The study shows that silicon-containing rhodamine (SiR) proves are particularly well suited for live-cell imaging because they covalently bind their specific targets, allowing the fluorophores to maintain a zwitterionic form. Meanwhile, another group of researchers develop an NIR fluorophore for in vivo and clinical applications, particularly for image-guided surgery.
