- Authors
Mallipeddi, Ramesh
- Abstract
A literary criticism is presented of the novella "Oroonoko," by Aphra Behn. It discusses Behn's use of the language of spectacle and visuality so as to illustrate the theme of exoticism throughout the book. An overview of the book's methodology for eliciting sympathy for the condition of slavery, through the protagonist Oroonoko's public execution, is provided.
