- Abstract
The article offers information on the moves undertaken by various countries worldwide to recognize nuclear energy as a Clean Development Mechanism (CDM). According to the Japan Atomic Industrial Forum (JAIF), these nations will prepare case studies to push nuclear energy as a CDM and a tool in mitigating climate change at the 15th (COP15) meeting at the Conference of the Parties under the United Nations' Climate Change Convention that will be held in Denmark in December 2009. According to the Forum for Nuclear Cooperation in Asia (FNCA), these studies cover various issues including economic effects and reduction in greenhouse gas emission.
