The article reports on the findings of the study concerning the effects of HopU1 gene in plant innate response through Pseudomonas syringae injection. It reveals that HopU1 is an active adenosine (ADP)-ribosyltransferase (RT) that suppress plant innate immunity. It also indicates that ADP-ribosylation of gastrin-releasing peptide (GRP)7 by HopU1 interferes RNA binding and ribosylate GRP7 in plant cells.
