Influences of Suprasystems on Systemic Change.
- Abstract
The article explains the influence of higher offices on the change process in the educational arena. Ideally, the change must be initiated by the higher office for effective implementation. The federal policy in the United States (US) hinders educational research program. The No Child Left Behind program which makes standardized tests mandatory is against student-centered practices and hinders educational change process. The article lists state policies in the US that encourage change. Impact of charter school recommendations and Korean government policy on changes in K-12 education is analyzed.
