- Abstract
The article discusses the book "Radical Atheism," by Martin Hägglund about French philosopher Jacques Derrida's writings. The author focuses on the status and place of value in Derrida's philosophical thinking from this book. It outlines Derrida's deconstruction theory as value-neutral in which no ethical or political stance can be deduced from it. It is argued that in not being able to derive a morality or a politics from the theory of deconstruction, then the claim that evaluation occurs in all deconstructive analyses because their engagement with language must be supported.
