- Title
New perspectives in imaging interstitial lung disease in children.
- Authors
Brody, Alan S.
- Abstract
The article discusses developments in imaging childhood interstitial lung disease (chILD). The identification of surfactant protein abnormalities is a good example of knowledge changing the evaluation of chILD. Understanding of chILD has been limited due to reluctance to obtain lung biopsies in children. The primary imaging modality for chILD is computed tomography (CT) scanning. The article also discusses the classification scheme of chILD and the roles of imaging in chILD.
