- Abstract
The article describes a strategy to use community foundation funds to enhance elementary physical education program at Wenonah Elementary School in Waynesboro, Virginia. The aim of the moving for knowledge project at Wenonah was to develop physical education lesson plans that incorporate pedometers in which students will calculate distances among various regions and simulate walking or running using the pedometers to count steps. Alcoa Foundation funded the project. A pedometer log sheet was used to determine the progress of students.
