- Abstract
The article presents a study which explores the key role of autapses in the development of brain regions. The study reveals that autapses have been involved in several brain functions such as neocortex, hippocampus, substantia nigra and striatum. Researchers demonstrate that autapic transmission in Aplysia B31/B32 neurons consist long-term effect to cell stimulation. The main purpose of the study is to prove that autapses are units of growing buccal ganglia neurons.
