- Abstract
The article discusses the progress achieved in the fight for the First Amendment rights of dentists and the need to eliminate the remaining restrictive statutes that hinder their ability to advertise as specialists. Topics discussed include the role of the American Dental Association (ADA) and state dental boards across the U.S., brief background of commercial speech case law, assessment of advertising in the dental profession and benefits of unrestricted dental advertising.
