- Authors
Biele, Joelle
- Abstract
The article profiles Polish poet Wislawa, Szymborska. The author states that a campaign against Szymborska was mounted due to her first manuscript "Poems" which focuses on the aftermath of war in Poland. He mentions that the theme of the poetry of Szymborska is her rejection of the grand narrative which is any kind of pattern used to describe a past or present moment to arrive at a predetermined end. He notes that her rejection is rooted in her renunciation of communism and socialist-realism.
