- Abstract
The article presents a study on plant-environment relationships and vegetation patterns within three categories of riparian margins in northeast Scotland. The margins were categorized as reference, buffered and unbuffered, and soil and vascular plant data were gathered from 41 sites with tributaries of two rivers from 2008-2009. Multivariate analysis revealed that channel morphology and soil parameters, together with bryophyte abundance and canopy cover, were discriminatory in classifying species assemblages.
