- Abstract
The article discusses three shifts in U.S. judicial system's approach to make a difference in judicial treatment between the youthful offender and her adult counterpart by defining age of criminality. Topics discussed include racial disparities in child and adult prosecution, rationales behind political policies towards juvenile offenders, and a minority ruling called bright line mandate issued by state legislatures to prevent adult system prosecution of child under 17 years of age.
