- Abstract
In the article, the author discusses the concept of freedom. He examines the relationship of freedom with the Jewish festival called Passover and the emancipation of the Jews. He also cites a quotation by Franz Kafka on freedom, wherein he claimed that it is safer to be in chains than being free. He explores the connection between freedom and The Ten Commandments as presented by God to Moses during their journey to the Promised Land. He claims that the truest meaning of freedom is the use of an individual's Divine power of choice within the boundaries of a moral and ethical code of behavior.
