- Title
A tale of two threonines: myosin phosphatase inhibition and calcium sensitization of smooth muscle.
- Authors
MacDonald, Justin A.
- Abstract
The article discusses research being done on the phosphorylation of the myosin-targeting subunit (MYPT1) and its role in myosin light chain phosphatase (MLCP) and smooth muscle (SM) contraction. It references the study "In vivo Roles for Myosin Phosphatase Targeting Subunit-1 Phosophorylation Sites T694 and T852 in Bladder Smooth Muscle Contraction," by C-P Chen et al. in the 2015 issue. The discovery of an omphalocele phenotype in transgenic mice is mentioned.
