- Abstract
The article offers insights on a study published in this issue of the journal which examined the influence of adverse nutritional exposures on weight and adiposity in pregnant sheep. It notes that there is growing awareness of the important role of the fetal environment in the development of adiposity and type 2 diabetes risks. It points out that the study provided further proof-of-concept on factors influencing both birth weight and adiposity risk at the early stage of pregnancy.
