- Title
STATE SUPREME COURT APPLICATIONS OF TROXEL v. GRANVILLE AND THE COURTS' RELUCTANCE TO DECLARE GRANDPARENT VISITATION STATUTES UNCONSTITUTIONAL.
- Authors
Roberts, Kristine L.
- Abstract
The article focuses on the applications of the U.S. Supreme Court for the Troxel v. Granville case and its hesitance to announce grandparent visitation statutes unconstitutional. It states that a plurality of the U.S. Supreme Court held that a state nonparent visitation statute was unconstitutional as applied to Tommie Granville, who disagreed with the amount of visitation asked by the paternal grandparents of her daughter. The plurality was unconstitutional as applied to the case.
