- Title
SHOULD PREMARITAL COUNSELING BE MANDATORY AS A REQUISITE TO OBTAINING A MARRIAGE LICENSE?
- Authors
Licata, Nicole
- Abstract
The article discusses the importance of premarital counseling for all couples contemplating marriage in the U.S. to strengthen their readiness, commitment, and certainty. It explains the value of marriage in forming the foundation of a strong family and cites the disruptive consequences and impact of divorce to the children, the family, and society. It suggests that a mandatory premarital counseling and guidance for couples will promote stability in the marital and family relationship.
