- Authors
Kelly, Robert F.; Ward, Shawn L.
- Abstract
The article focuses on the two bodies of social science evidence used to justify the approximation rule, the attachment theory and research and research on the impact on children of shared parenting arrangements subsequent to divorce. The approximation rule is included in American Law Institute (ALI)'s reform proposals for the allocation of custodial responsibility for children among parents. Furthermore, the contemporary attachment theory and research is consistent with the approximation rule.
