Materials and Methods: The purpose of this review is to provide knowledge and serve children with special healthcare needs particularly their nutrition requirements. Children benefit best from such knowledge and other services will be well nourished and forms a basis of a good nation. Discussion: There are a number of disabilities or conditions that cause physical or mental impairment and may result in a nutritional problem, which requires a modification of the usual food. The condition may affect the energy needs of the child. For many children with special needs, one of the primary goals of eating is to get proper nutrition, because these children may need special diets. Assisted programmes serving children with special healthcare needs and their families should be included in the nutrition services. Summary and Conclusions: There is no one nutritional approach that works for everybody. Good nutritional health professionals strive to keep up with research and how it can be applied in real life. Parents are suggested to seek advice from well trained doctors and other nutritional experts.
